At Skagway Luxury Tours we pride ourselves on our uncompromising attention to detail—which translates into unforgettable experiences for our valued clientele.

Tour Itinerary

Skagway

As we leave the dock, your journey host will go over the tour itinerary as you make your way to the historic district. Your journey host will also act as your chauffeur for the day. The tour starts in the Klondike Gold Rush National Park, the heart of Skagway’s historic district. This is where you will begin your journey back to the days of the gold rush. Your journey host will provide commentary on Skagway’s colorful past, and how its evolved to current day Skagway. When returning from the tour your host will give you the opportunity to stop in town for shopping before returning back to the ship.

Historic District Highlights: Skagway Fish Co, White Pass & Yukon Route Train Depot, Red Onion Saloon, Arctic Brotherhood Hall, Kirmse’s Gifts, Gold Rush Cemetery, and Klondike Brewery.

Klondike Highway and Yukon Territory

Also known as Yukon Highway 2, this road stretches between an international border crossing, a Providence, and a Territory. There is a lot to see on our 150 mile round trip adventure. Always be on the lookout because we never know when we will have a wildlife encounter! Your journey host will provide colorful commentary on the Klondike Gold Rush history and of surrounding areas which include larger than life lakes and glacier carved valleys. During the summer months the highway is lined with blooming wildflowers and flowing waterfalls. This is truly a sight to see. Your journey host will be making several stops throughout the day for memorable photo opportunities. There are some popular locations along the highway that could possibly see big crowds. With our timing expertise, we will avoid such crowds allowing you to enjoy the serenity of the Yukon.

Klondike Highway Highlights: Emerald Lake, “Welcome to Alaska” sign, Tormented Valley, Lake Tutshi, native village of Carcross, Y.T., Carcross Desert, Yukon sign, and Bridal Veil Falls.

Suspension Bridge

One of the best kept secrets of the Klondike highway. The architecture of the buildings and boardwalks were carefully designed to enhance the experience of the gold rush history while maintaining the authenticity of the Yukon. Upon arrival, your driver will escort you through the entrance and provide an overview of the property. You will then have time to freely explore the grounds, learning about the area’s history and wildlife as you follow the boardwalk path to the suspension bridge. Here, you will have the chance to experience the thrill of swaying sixty-five feet above the raging rapids of the Tutshi River, while breathing in the crisp Canadian air. Finish off in the gift shop where you will find beautiful handcrafted leather handbags, goods, and locally made native art work and jewelry.

Yukon Suspension Bridge Highlights: : The Suspension bridge, Outdoor Interpretive Museum, and walking trails.

FAQs

Pick up and Drop off?
We pick up and drop off at all three docks. Your Journey Host will meet you at the end of the pier with Skagway Luxury Tours signage with your name on it. If your cruise ship is late getting into port (rarely happens) we will not begin the tour until all parties have checked in. Returning to Skagway, your journey host will give you the option of dropping off in town or at the ship.

Do we need passport? Why?
YES, EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO HAVE A VALID PASSPORT. We will be crossing an international border 30 minutes into our tour. It is very important that everyone has a valid passport when leaving the dock. We cannot use any other form of identification other than a valid passport or passport card.
If your family is traveling with a foreign Nationals visa from your home country, Canadian AND U.S. customs require that you have those with you at all times.
Anyone under the age of 18 is required to have a valid passport or certified copy of birth certificate. Both legal parents/guardian must be present or child must have an authorized letter of consent from absent parents.

Please understand that our drivers are held to a degree of responsibility to make sure that all documents are accounted for prior to embarking on the tour. We follow all laws and regulations when crossing an international border

Does the tour make a stop at the Yukon Suspension Bridge?
Every tour option will make a 10-minute stop there primarily for a restroom break — as restroom facilities along the highway are very limited and are mostly porta-potty style. At the suspension bridge property, guests have access to modern facilities, magnificent views of the surrounding landscape and a clear view of the bridge for photos. There is also access to the café and gift shop during this stop.

If you would like full access to the property, we recommend booking the 6-hour tour. This option provides an additional hour to fully explore the grounds, cross the bridge or relax on the deck with a cup of coffee.

What should I bring/wear?
Guests should dress in layers. An Alaskan summer day can vary. Sunshine, a cool breeze, and light rain are always possible in this region. Skagway Luxury Tours vehicles’ are equipped with extra umbrellas and binoculars.

Will we see wildlife?
Wild animals are unpredictable but there is always a possibility. Your journey host is always on the lookout for potential sightings.

What is your cancellation policy?
90% refund available up to 7 days prior to tour departure.

Are restrooms available on the tour?
Yes, your journey host will make a restroom break approximately every 60 minutes.

Is there a chance of missing our ship?
Your tour will conclude well before your ship departures. When booking with Skagway Luxury Tours, we will verify what ship you are traveling on and will know ship departure time ahead of your arrival.
